Generating Steam Heat radio show 31.03.15

So, we made it on air and through the first show relatively unscathed with only a few minor glitches.

Think of this like hearing a first band practise when there’s only three strings on the guitar, a broken snare drum and no bass amp! Actually, it’s way better than that thanks to a great playlist...

The playlist and some notes:

The Saints-River Deep, Mountain High (From ‘One, two, three, four 7’’ EP, Harvest Records 1977)

Bikini Kill- Rebel Girl (Kill Rock Stars Records 7’’ 1993)

Turns out the Kathleen Hannah documentary we talked about, ‘The Punk Singer’, is no longer on Netflix (in the UK at least.) Great movie-here’s the trailer:

Sleater Kinny-A New Wave (From the Sub Pop Records album ‘No Cities to Love’ 2015)

The Cramps-Human Fly (From the Illegal Records album ‘Off the Bone’ 1983)

New York Dolls-Looking for a Kiss (From the Mercury Records album ‘New York Dolls’ 1973)

Thurston Moore-Germs Burn (From the Matador Records album ‘The Best Day’ 2014)

Hedgehog-Hey Boy I Wanna be Your Girlfriend (From the EP of the same name, unknown Chinese label, 2015)

The Cure-Object (From the Fiction Records album ‘Three Imaginary Boys’ 1979)

Black Flag-Spray Paint (From the SST Records album ‘Damaged’ 1981)

Crucifix-Rise and Fall (From the ‘1984’ 7’’ EP, Freak Records, 1982)

Discharge-Ain’t no Feeble Bastard (From the Clay Records 12’’ EP ‘Why?’ 1981)

GBH-Race Against Time (From the Clay Records 12’’ EP ‘Leather, Bristles, Studs and Acne’ 1981)

The Colin GBH/Colin Grigson moment:

Veronica Falls-Buried Alive (From the Bella Union Records album ‘Waiting for Something to Happen’ 2013)

If anyone knows the Veronica Falls/Totnes link-let us know!

The Psychedelic Furs-Sister Europe (From the CBS Records album ‘The Psychedelic Furs’ 1980)

Best Coast-California Nights (From the forth coming Virgin Records album ‘California Nights’ 2015)

Slaughter and the Dogs-Cranked Up Really High (Rabid Records 7’’ 1977)

Young Guv-Crawling Back to You (From the Slumberland Records album ‘Ripe 4 Luv’ 2015)

Motorhead-Dirty Love (B side of ‘Bomber’ 7’’, Bronze Records, 1980)
